Partnerships

CRIA

Since 2015, A.B.E.L.H.A. and the  Reference Center on Environmental Information (CRIA) have established a partnership based on their common interests, especially the dissemination of scientific knowledge aimed at the conservation of biodiversity and bees and other pollinators.

Among the joint initiatives are the Scientific Information System about Neotropical Bees and the Information System on Brazilian Bee-Plant Interactions, available at INFOABELHA.

Kombee Project

Kombee is a project created by KombiLab to promote environmental education using the incredible world of stingless bees, native to Brazil.

Through the partnership, A.B.E.L.H.A. participates in fairs and events aiming at raising awareness among children and adults about the importance of bees and flowers for the biodiversity of the planet.

GeoApis by Converge

In early 2020, the project Information Platform on Beekeeping and Environment - geoApis ceased to exist as an A.B.E.L.H.A. project and gave rise to a company, Converge Consultoria Agronômica, supported by the Association.

Currently, agro industries and farmers find in GeoApis a dialogue tool that promotes the multiple use of their agricultural areas, guaranteeing access to bee pasture in an organized manner by beekeepers.

Using geo-referencing technology, the GeoApis application allows communication between agro industries, farmers and beekeepers for a more productive relationship, generating a win-win for all.

By determining the location of apiaries, farmers can monitor the position of the apiaries and, when performing some management in the field, such as application of pesticides, can issue an alert to beekeepers. The beekeeper, in turn, is also able to communicate to the owner about their visit to the property to manage their hives.

Eko-kya

Por meio da parceria com o Projeto Eko-Kya,Through the partnership with Eko-Kya Project, A.B.E.L.H.A. developed Biodiversidade em Ação: Redes Vitais - Recursos Educativos sobre a Biodiversidade, a set of educational materials to raise the environmental awareness of young people and adults about the biodiversity of the planet.

It consists of six modules full of knowledge, playful and dynamic resources for teachers to use in class, from preschool to high school level.

The material aims at to stimulate knowledge, in a fun and didactic way, about the interactions in nature essential for human food and the challenges to produce food and conserve biodiversity.

Fototeca FCM

The collection of Fototeca Cristiano Menezes, which is part of the speciesLink network, aims at providing images and technical and scientific descriptions of different species of bees with national and international occurrence.

Its purpose is to make public knowledge about behavioral aspects, biology and management of these insects, facilitating the search for information and encouraging the use of this data to disseminate the subject in teaching and research.

FCM is the source of many images that A.B.E.L.H.A. uses to illustrate its materials, including the website.
