InfoA.B.E.L.H.A. Neotropical

sistema abelha neotropicais

The Scientific Information System about Neotropical Bees is a research platform that aims to facilitate the access to scientific information available in different online systems. The information is presented on a single page and allows the user direct access to its primary source.

The system uses the Moure Bees Catalogue as the primary source and integrates data from systems such as the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL) Bioline International, Fototeca Cristiano Menezes, speciesLink network, the IBICT bibliography system, oasisbr, and other specialized information.

The platform is mainly intended for researchers and university students who seek to find, quickly and efficiently, information to support their studies. In the meantime, the system is open to all interested.

InfoA.B.E.L.H.A. Bees-Plants

abelha planta

The Information System on Brazilian Bee-Plant Interactions, launched in 2017, gathers data on the Interaction of more than 900 bee species with more than two thousand plant species.

Understanding the operation and structuring of bee communities and their association with particular habitats is especially useful in identifying the vulnerability of these organisms to changes in the landscape and fundamental in assessing the potential of different bee species for sustainable use in agriculture.

The platform is intended for researchers and professionals who need information about interactions of the bees with the plants they visit to collect food (pollen and nectar).
