The Brazilian Bee Studies Association (A.B.E.L.H.A.) is a civil, non-profit association with no political or ideological connotation, with the purpose of leading the creation of a network for the conservation of bees and other pollinators.

Our mission is to gather, produce and disseminate scientifically based information aimed at the conservation of Brazilian biodiversity and the harmonious and sustainable coexistence of agriculture with bees and other pollinators.


A.B.E.L.H.A. acts to contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) contained in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

She has a degree in Economics from the Universidade Católica de Brasília (1980) and Doctor’s degree in Scientific and Technology Politics from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2000).

She has worked in the Biotechnology and Health area of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the General Coordination of National Cooperation of the Institutional Cooperation Board of CNPq. She was in charge of the Sectoral Funds Office and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation from August, 2012 to April, 2014.

She is guest professor of the Master’s and Doctor’s degree programs in Biotechnology at Universidade Federal do Amazonas and Rede Bionorte.

Journalist, graduate and postgraduate at Faculdade Cásper Líbero, SP, with extensive experience in print and digital media, including the creation and management of communication projects in entities and associations linked mainly to the agricultural world.

He has 30 years of experience in Journalism. He has worked for O Estado de São Paulo and Folha de São Paulo, and has solid experience in Corporate and Business Communication consulting projects.
