Educational Meliponary

The Meliponary School is an A.B.E.L.H.A. project that aims at the implementation of meliponaries in partnership with teaching and research institutions such as universities, technological institutes and schools, for use in teaching, research and dissemination of knowledge to the community about the various species of stingless bees and their importance for the reproduction of flowering plants by promoting pollination.

We understand that each institution that wishes to establish the partnership has specific demands for the implementation of meliponaries, which vary according to the objective of the use of space, material types (permanent and consumption) to be acquired, environmental and structural characteristics of the place where they will be installed. Thus, the work plan is constructed jointly, with the presentation by the partners of the demand and the budget necessary to meet the purposes of the proposal. Besides, as it is a partnership relationship, it is important that the institution offer a counterpart, which can be of human or economic resources, always aiming to offer adequate conditions for the use and maintenance of the space. During the work plan development, the best way to transfer funds, which may vary according to the conditions of each partner, will also be discussed

Partnerships can be established in a continuous flow, without the need to wait for a public call. Those interested can send an e-mail to abelha@abelha.org.br.
